Meet Katie

I'm delighted that you're here!

My passions lay at the intersections of spirituality, social justice, and the arts. Hailing from the Philly area, I earned a BMus in musical theatre at Catholic University in Washington, DC before joining Jesuit Volunteer Corps in Houston, TX and pursuing my MDiv at Loyola University Chicago. It's been my joy to minister as a high school chaplain and theology teacher for over a decade.

I relish opportunities to collaborate with fellow seekers and faith-justice organizations as a spiritual companion, singer, presenter, and writer. Sustained by pilgrimage, travel, and immersion experiences, I love long walks, real talk, and working to build a bigger table, alongside my partner Kevin (and rescue pup Smartie!).

Spiritual Direction/Companioning

Spiritual directors/companions offer spaces of listening, supporting seekers hoping to connect more authentically with God/The Divine, others, and themselves. Spiritual direction encourages attentiveness and discernment as people seek to understand their experiences, relationships, and decisions within the context of spirituality. Different from talk therapy and coaching, spiritual direction's roots and aims lay in the Love of God.

am grateful to accompany adults and teens in monthly spiritual direction sessionsWhile I am Catholic and proud to have been trained in the Ignatian tradition, spiritual direction is not exclusive to Christianity. It also has been a joy and honor for me to walk with folks for whom religion and church are complicated. All are welcome!

Please feel free to reach out to schedule a free introductory session! I also have availability for the 19th Annotation Retreat.

I have over two decades of professional experience as a musician in both sacred and secular settings, having served as cantor/singer and music consultant for numerous weddings, funerals, productions, and events. Testimonials

"Katie Davis-Crowder's voice has been a powerful gift to so many parts of our parish community.  Whether with our initiation ministry, the parents and guardians of our family religious education, or our young adult community, Katie teaches and engages our members in a way that gently yet boldly invites them to what St. Ignatius would call the 'magis' ... the more.  She inspires those new to the faith as well as those who have been life-long believers to journey deeper into friendship with Christ and life in and with Christ's Body, the church."

— Keara Ette, MDiv, Director of Ministries, Old St. Patrick's Church, Chicago
